Modulo 300 Tension Brake Application
The Modulo 300 Tension Brakes were recently installed to provide web tension in unwinding rolls of paper. The application, at a Cheshire Paper Mill called for variable tension in the high grade paper as it unwinds from the roll.
Previously the Cheshire Paper Mill had used the old design Water Cooled Brakes using a Single Actuator for varying the brake torque. The single actuator brakes were unresponsive and the water cooling required for them was often a problem maintaining.
Industrial Clutch Parts specified a Fan Cooled Coremo Modulo 306 Multiple Actuator Brake which not only offers the opportunity to switch in or out up to 6 actuators per brake, but by varying the number of air actuators allows the user to specify the torque requirement in the brakes to suit the width and weight of the paper in the process and therefore results in always maintaining an optimum air pressure for fast response.
ICP also made the adaptor plates for converting the old brake mounting flange to fit the new Modulo 306.

Despite an airspace ban that restricted the number of possible attendees at the BAUMA 2010 Construction Show, an incredible 415,000 visitors still made it to the show in Munich. Industrial Clutch Parts Ltd exhibited Mechanical PTO clutches for the first time and had many interested visitors to it’s booth.
Mike Wallworth, Managing Director of Industrial Clutch Parts said: “With difficult economic conditions and a reduced number of visitors to the show due to the airspace ban, we still had a very success exhibition, although the total number of visitors was down on the last year, the quality of the customers’ contacts established was of a high standard, therefore enabling us to extend our customer base for a successful PTO clutch range”.

ICP will be exhibiting it’s range of mechanical operation overcentre PTO clutches for SAE flywheel mounting to engines. Also with new free shaft input module and foot mount for maximum installation flexibility in mobile machinery. Applications include rock crushers, recycling machines,grain or granule blowers and dredger pumps among many others.
Furthermore the ICP range of mechanical PTO clutches are fully interchangeable, units and parts with TwinDisc and AP models.
Also on display is one of the ICP 3000/5000 series Hydraulically actuated heavy caliper brakes with braking capacity up to 218kn.
Oil released or oil applied with double or mono caliper arrangement the 3000 series are used primarily on wind turbine applications. Furthermore they are fully interchangeable with Svendborg models.The 3000/5000 series brakes are also used widely in material handling applications such as downhill conveyors.
